Rows of white yarn bobbins on a ring spinning frame inside a textile mill.
Buying yarn, step 4 of 13

Send the request to three to five mills

Spec, programme or one-off, packing, payment, whether you need a sample, and your target.

The quote form asks for exactly this list, and our desk sends one specification to checked suppliers so the answers come back on one basis. Ask more than one seller, always: two offers is a comparison, one offer is a price you cannot judge.

What a bad answer looks like: “40s combed, best price” with no resultant count, no spinning system, no validity date and no lot named, so nothing in it can be checked when the cones arrive.

Tools for this step

  • Ask for a quote

Send one specification and get quotes you can compare side by side. No fee, and a person reads every one.

  • Register as a buyer

Tell us your counts and volumes once, and be told when something matches, instead of asking every time.
